Umbrella Movement Logo Competition Call for Entries

The Umbrella Movement Logo Competition is now open for entries. The aim of the competition is to find a logo that represents the spirit and values of the Umbrella Movement, which was a pro-democracy movement that took place in Hong Kong in 2014.

The Umbrella Movement was a series of protests and civil disobedience actions that were sparked by the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress to limit the number of candidates for the Hong Kong Chief Executive election. Protesters used umbrellas as a symbol of their peaceful intentions and to protect themselves from pepper spray and tear gas used by police.

The competition is open to anyone who wishes to participate. There is no entry fee, and participants are allowed to submit up to three designs. The winning logo will be used as the official logo of the Umbrella Movement and will be used on merchandise, social media, and other promotional materials.

The logo should be simple, memorable, and easily recognizable. It should incorporate the symbol of an umbrella in some way, and should also represent the values of democracy, freedom, and peaceful protest.

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts in the fields of design and activism. The winning design will be announced on the 5th anniversary of the Umbrella Movement on September 28, 2019.

To enter the competition, participants should submit their designs to the official Umbrella Movement Logo Competition website. The deadline for entries is August 31, 2019.
